In all of my years of RV'ing never visited a campground with more hazards than the KOA Knoxville East in Kodak, Tennessee. Sites 101 through 106 are considered big rig sites. Each site has huge boulders at the entrance and exit and trees in need of trimming. It is impossible to level. During a four day stay four rigs were damaged. Damage included scratches from branches and scrapes from boulders. With the help of several people I was able to get in and out with no problems.
This is a well maintained campground with large camp sites. We stayed here for three weeks. It is a few miles from Springfield, the capitol of Illinois, and Lake Springfield. Lots to see and do in the Springfield area.
Reserved a specific site and upon arrival was told the occupant of the site had extended. I reserved this particular site because it would accommodate a big rig and there were no obstacles to be concerned about. I was assigned another site that had many low hanging tree branches. Unfortunately the coach came in contact with many of these branches scratching the painted surface. This was a costly stay and could have been avoided had the reservation been honored.
This is on my Top 5 list of campgrounds in the US. The sites are large. The owner's/staff are very friendly and helpful. The campground is located in hilly West Central Wisconsin close to La Crosse and the Mississippi River.
